Sculptra®

Sculptra® is commonly used to treat areas where volume loss and skin laxity occur with age, including:

Sculptra® is generally safe for all skin types and tones. However, it is best suited for individuals with moderate to advanced signs of aging who are looking for longer-lasting results and are willing to be patient with the gradual improvement that Sculptra offers.

Most patients require 2 to 3 treatment sessions, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. The exact number of sessions will depend on the specific concerns being addressed and the amount of volume loss. Each session typically lasts about 30 to 60 minutes and involves a series of injections in the targeted areas.

Total number of vials required is generally equivalent to decades of life from 30 years of age, ie,

• 40 year old 1-2 vials

• 50 year old 2-3 vials

• 60 year old 3-4 vials

The effects of Sculptra® are gradual and build over time, with noticeable improvements beginning around 3 to 4 weeks after the first session. Optimal results are usually seen after 3 months, and the results can last up to 2 years, with maintenance sessions typically recommended every 12 to 18 months.

As with any injectable treatment, there can be some side effects, but they are generally mild and temporary. Common side effects may include:

• Redness at the injection site

• Swelling

• Bruising

• Tenderness or itching

These side effects typically resolve within a few days to a week. In rare cases, lumps or bumps under the skin may form, but these can often be massaged out or treated with additional care.
