What is Profhilo®?
Profhilo® is a unique injectable made of high concentration of a carbohydrate called hyaluron that is naturally present in the skin but declines with age. It promotes skin hydration and collagen formation. Profhilo® has a unique formulation which is free of additives. Its consistency is like runny honey, as such that allows it to evenly spread through the skin tissues and underlying structures forming a hydrating layer as well as stimulating cell production including collagen and elastin.
Profhilo® forms a hydrating layer, and stimulates collagen and elastin production to help tighten, lift the skin and improve skin quality, giving a more youthful look.

Unlike other anti-ageing injectables, Profhilo® uses Hyaluronic acid (HA) which is used to treat skin laxity and help in the reduction of crepiness and fine lines, remodel ageing and sagging skin. It hydrates and firms the skin and is shown to have a stimulatory effect on the cells producting collagen and elastin to help tighten, lift the skin and improve skin quality to give it a more youthful look. The resulting mild plumping effect can reduce fine lines and soften old acne scars.
The results of Profhilo® treatment can last up to 6-9 months. However, this may very by patient and depends on the skin type and age.

This treatment is relatively unproblematic and well tolerated. Mild swelling, a raised lump, bruising and tenderness at the injection site can occur. The lumps usually resolve over hours or a few days but the injection point on the cheek bone may disappear more slowly than the others (up to one week). Bruising is more common for those taking aspirin, anti-inflammatories, and fish oil. Bruising is not harmful and can be covered with makeup while fading over 1-3 weeks.
