COSMELAN PEELS

What are Cosmelan peels?

Cosmelan is the world’s leading professional depigmenting method. It has an intensive corrective action on skin hyperpigmentation. A Cosmelan peel simultaneously regulates the overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes, while inhibiting and controlling the appearance of new dark spots. It has a dual corrective and controlling action, achieving short- and long-term results by keeping hyperpigmentation under control. This world leading hyperpigmentation treatment is suitable for all skin types and consists of a salon stage and a seven-month home care routine.

    • Reduction of all forms of pigmentation, including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, freckles, age and sunspots

    • Helping to improve uneven skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles and acne scarring

    • It creates a smoother and more even tone overall

    • Brightening and rejuvenating skin

    • The active ingredients give skin a fresh, revitalised glow

Who should not have a Cosmelan peel?

You should not have Cosmelan if you are pregnant or planning on getting pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to any component of Cosmelan, on antibiotics, isotretinoin or hydroquinone; have a skin infection; or have recently had a peel or IPL/laser treatment in the area.

What does the 3-month hyperpigmentation treatment involve?

  • For best results, use skincare with Vitamin A and C a month prior to treatment. We may also advise a peel a week prior, depending on your skin sensitivity.

  • The Cosmelan mask will be applied in-clinic and you will wash it off later at home, after approximately eight hours.

  • You may wish to take antihistamine to reduce itching. Once your skin has settled, you will start using the pH- balanced skin care products provided, instead of your usual skincare regime. Using this homecare daily is essential to long term pigment reduction. After 3 months, we advise switching to a skincare regime with Vitamin A, C and a pigment inhibitor for the next four months.

  • In the first 12 to 48 hours after your hyperpigmentation treatment, you may experience some swelling and redness of the treated area. Very rarely does this last longer than 48 hours.
